India Harville

Hi, I’m India. My work with Momentum centers on supporting clients as they learn about DEIA concepts and frameworks, and begin to unpack and explore the ways in which this work impacts them both personally and professionally. Reclaiming the body as an often underestimated pathway to decolonizing ourselves to foster social justice, equity, and inclusion. Regardless of the context, I center Disability Justice as a framework and as an embodied praxis for the liberation of those most impacted by oppression, which in turn liberates everyone. You will see me most often in social justice wellness and affinity spaces and content workshops.

Hailing from Detroit Michigan and navigating the world as a Black, queer, disabled/chronically ill woman born to educators with a love for learning, I teach that which I want to learn more deeply myself.  I use my seemingly divergent areas of practice - as movement educator/performer,  bodyworker, Disability Justice activist, conflict mediator, and diversity educator - to support our ability to remember our own and each other’s humanity.  I have offered keynote addresses and workshops for De Anza College, UC Davis, Mills College, University of Northern Colorado, University of Oregon, University of San Francisco, and UC Fullerton. I have consulted with dozens of organizations to support their diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility development including Northwest Health Foundation, Turtle Tank, and Water Has No Enemy, to name a few.

I have a BA in Psychology from New College of Florida and a MA in Integrative Health Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies. My superpower is supporting people to embrace the messy complexities, struggles, and exquisite beauty of being in our own bodies so that we are resourced and have access to our full selves to address the pressing social issues we are facing.
